Helping people positively progress at their own pace

Many people with multiple and complex needs are let down by support services or unable to engage with them.

We believe everyone has the power to turn their lives around, no matter what their situation.  It is not easy – we encourage each person to overcome the adversity they face from the outside world and from within themselves.  If they stumble, we are there to pick them back up and we will work with people at their own pace.

Because our staff come from similar backgrounds, they have a real understanding of what their client’s situation is and can reach those who may not engage with other services.

There is an increasing need to provide services for people with multiple and complex needs

  • Last year, we helped 1422 people access mental health support services
  • We also helped 2368 people register with a GP to get help with basic health needs
  • Austerity cuts to homelessness services and outreach services have led to an inability for these services to cope with highly challenging clients
  • Rough sleeping In London has doubled since 2009 (Chain report, Greater London)
  • The housing market has become harder for individuals with complex needs to access.  There is a reduced supply of social housing and the private rented sector is often not an affordable or suitable option for people with complex needs
  • Accessing welfare rights is an increasingly complex process since the roll out of Universal Credit. It takes our highly skilled caseworkers an average of 2 to 3 hours to submit a claim on behalf of a client with a complex history.  Many of these clients do not have the necessary IT skills to negotiate often confusing online systems.
