Our commitment to support inclusion and positive community relations

As a charity proudly working with diverse communities across the UK, and with staff teams to reflect these communities, we are committed to doing our utmost to support inclusion and positive community relations.

At St Giles, where over 80% of our frontline teams come from the same backgrounds as the people we support, we know from our experience that harmony, mutual respect and diversity bring out the most positive qualities in people and deliver the best results.

The team here at St Giles have been saddened and angered by events in US.  We want to continue to play a vital role in making UK society fairer, more humane and to enable all of us within it to have a voice and opportunities.

Our thoughts at this sad time are with individuals and communities affected by the tragic death of George Floyd. It reminds us that we must listen to all communities, stay focussed on addressing inequalities, level up the playing field; and most importantly that we should all remain open to questioning and scrutiny.

At a time of when we are emerging from the Covid-19 pandemic it gives us an opportunity to build a better society – one where discrimination is not accepted in any shape or form.
